THE EXHIBITION
Mankind’s Epic Adventure

"While Neil Armstrong walked on the Moon and held the world spellbound", the US president spoke to him by radio "For one precious shining moment" - he said, "all of mankind is truly one".

This poetic claim was very nearly the truth, the Apollo achievement was an unprecedented uniting experience for the global community, with people of nations around the world gathering before radios and televisions wherever they could, to become the largest live audience ever assembled. They watched and listened in amazement as witnesses to a milestone event in human history, a milestone that was the product of a quantum leap in technological capability, unlike anything else before or since.
Armstrong's epoch-making "one small step" was the accomplishment of Science devoted to Space Exploration which was in itself a Buck Roger fantasy coming to life, the Space Exploration captured the imagination of the world and became a symbol for the highest and finest standards of technological achievement and for achieving the impossible.
Space Exploration dealt in superlatives of velocity and power beyond individual comprehension, and in titanic constructions outside any conventional experience, to the ordinary person space exploration has thus always been a somewhat distant and abstract endeavor verging on the mythical, a realm of wonders, a futuristic Camelot seemingly beyond the borderlands of ordinary reality and this is true for the European Audience.
Our exhibition LIFE IN SPACE, brings the hardware and the technology of this great adventure into Europe. Along with the wonder and the drama of this inspiring story of human accomplishment, this exhibition marshals an extraordinary collection of the instruments, the artifacts, and the spacecraft that made a modern reality out of ancient dreams.
With such a significant and impressive collection of space exploration equipment along with the technology, the exhibition presents memorabilia that brings that former era to life and even more importantly, illuminates the human stories that lend meaning to the hardware. The immediacy of encountering these artifacts will provide a rich and authentic experience that will bring the thrilling reality of the space exploration adventure to life for our European audience.

LIFE IN SPACE is an international travelling exhibition made with the partnership of ESA, ASI and the support of the United States Space & Rocket Center (NASA Visitors Center) in Huntsville.

The history of space conquest since the earliest days all the way to the accomplishments of the recent half a century will be presented at the overall area of approximately 2000 square meter lavishly designed. Over 100 unique exhibits presented will delve into the history of human endavor in space. These include original Objects, models of satellites, the Columbus node (laboratory of International space station), astronaut suits and accessories, the moon rock (Meteorite) and the work of Dr. Wernher Von Braun, which came from archives at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center (NASA Visitor Center). A new area is being displayed regarding the life in the International Space Station as Toilet, Crew Quarter and others.
The exhibition will provide any visitor, irrespective of the age, with a unique chance to make a virtual trip to the space. Various simulators at the end of the exhibition will create a memorable, although short-lived impression of a space flight. This is the wow factor of the exhibition. A unique VR Platform will bring visitors to live into the atmosphere inside the International Space Station.
An immersive room with 360° projections will make you relive the history of the Apollo missions with unique videos to excite many emotions.
What do astronauts eat? What is the astronaut's lifestyle? How was the international space station built? but the question everyone is asking, is space exploration necessary? We will tell you throughout the story telling within the exhibition.
A noteworthy detail in this regard is that previous shows all over the world were attended by more than 4 million visitors between South Africa, Spain, Italy (three cities), Azerbaijan, Israel, Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Romenia (three cities), Greece and Switzerland.

OVER
4.000.000
VISITORS AROUND THE WORLD
OVER

The exhibition aspires to bring children and young people closer to the natural sciences, encouraging them in an educational
but at the same time entertaining way to discover the positive impact of space technology on people's daily lives.

INTERACTIVITY

Here visitors can experience the same sensations that astronauts and cosmonauts
feel during their training and their stay in space.

LAND THE SHUTTLE

This simulator gives you the chance to try your hand at being a shuttle commander. Follow the display on the screen in front of you and use the joystick to maneuver your orbiter. Beware! You have only one chance to land since the orbiter does not have any engines to take you around for another try.

MULTI AXIS TRAINER

The Multi Axis Trainer used at Space Camp simulates a tumble spin one might experience in space. Based on the Multiple Axis Space Test Inertia Facility used during the Mercury program, the MAT provides the feeling of disorientation experienced during an out-of-control spin. The MASTIF had a full set of controls that would allow the astronaut to practice regaining control of the vehicle, whereas the MAT has no controls. In flight, only one American mission experienced a tumble spin on board: Gemini VIII piloted by Neil Armstrong and Dave Scott. A stuck maneuvering thruster caused an out-of-control spin. They were able to regain control of the capsule but had to return early due to low fuel.

DOUBLE CHAIR

Housed inside an enveloping seat, this interactive experience simulates the movements and displacement of air, visitors will experience a very real simulation of a walk on Mars.

MISSION TO THE MOON

Come and experience the sensations that the Apollo 11 astronauts felt when landing on the moon.

ESA KIDS

ESA Kids presents a series of games created specifically to offer fun learning. Simple but engaging, the app is suitable for different age groups.
Introduce space and Paxi to little explorers with coloring figures and matching and memory games.
Challenge older pioneers with specific missions that involve building spacecraft, landing on different planets and moons, and clearing space debris.
Gather the whole family for a series of questions about space exploration.

F18 PILOT SIMULATOR

This is a flight simulator in 3D graphics, which offers a realistic piloting experience of the F18. Being a pilot of military aircraft is a requirement much appreciated by space agencies, especially when it comes to test aircraft (test experimental aircraft and generally are able to cope with emergencies and unforeseen events). The first American astronaut candidates were selected by NASA in 1959 for the Mercury project with the aim of orbiting astronauts around the Earth in single-seater capsules. Military services were asked to provide a list of military test pilots with specific qualifications.

STAR WARS VR

Dominate the galaxy with your starfighter in STAR WARS™ and discover a new gaming experience where pilots are the true heroes. Feel the thrill of starfighter battles with your squadron and get ready for an exciting STAR WARS™ story.

ISS VR

You're aboard the ISS! With this innovative virtual reality platform, you'll be catapulted inside the International Space Station. You'll see objects and astronauts floating around. Be careful, you'll have to try to avoid them. You'll experience the sensations astronauts feel when entering the ISS for the first time.

3D PROJECTION

You will be able to immerse yourself in virtual worlds, experience breathtaking adventures, and appreciate every detail like never before. 3D Projections, also known as three-dimensional cinema, is a wonderful innovation that offers viewers an incredibly engaging visual experience.

The history of the conquest of space from its beginning until today.
An exhibition for the whole family.
A real experience.
